Janice has been in the finance industry for more than 8 years. She became a broker as her passion is helping people through the complicated finance world. Tony Walsh

Director/Mortgage Broker

Tony has spent the last 20+ years working in Sales and Marketing and in 2017, he finally made the jump to become self-employed. While he had previous experience in the finance industry, the mortgage industry was a completely different ball game.

Nonetheless, his strong belief that the Australian dream of owning their property was the driving force to continue through massive changes to the industry. For example, the royal commission nearly saw the downfall of mortgage broking as we knew it yet he pushed on. COVID-19 was another reason to possibly throw in the towel yet, Tony pushed on. Not only continuing to believe in his dream, but also going the next step and starting his practice: Loan Location – now relocated to a special place in Tony’s life, Airport West.

Westfield Airport West Shopping Centre does indeed have a soft spot with Tony as this is where he started his working life. While his first job was more for fun than anything else, working at the local Village Cinemas was indeed a great starting place where Tony was able to learn exceptional customer service skills. The once “busy ticket line” as Tony puts it, was filled with impatient movies goers waiting to buy a ticket to watch the new movie ” The Fast and the Furious”. Whilst it may seem like a basic first job, Tony was able to learn quickly how to deal with all sorts of customers which set him on his path.

His next adventure with working at the old “Delta Phones”. Tony was able to expand what he had learned at Village and take it to a whole new level. Tony was extremely obsessed with mobile phone technology and became the top salesperson in the shop and eventually the store manager. Not only did he sell the mobile phones, but he also fixed them and was able to upgrade the light as well. While he has fond memories of this time, he always mentions that Delta Phones are the reason why now, to this day, the Telstra Shop and the Optus Shop are in the old Delta phone location as this was the hot spot when it came to telecommunications.

Tony has worked at many places in Westfield Airport West Shopping Centre and others including Salesforce, AAPT, Vodafone, JB HIFI, NLC, and others, however, everything he has ventured into before has allowed him to build an absolutely solid foundation to build his own business. He understands that regardless of the media and external factors, the refinance market is always open. The interest rate may be high or low however, Tony’s sole purpose is to make sure his clients are being looked after. He does this by helping clients either refinance to obtain a better home loan rate or even to roll smaller expensive debt to consolidate.

Renovating your home is necessary to either increase the market value for sale or because you can no longer look at that same boring old kitchen. While different environments attract different reasons to obtain equity from your home, Tony loves the conversation to help clients achieve their financial goals. Investing means different things to different people. Some want property portfolios and some just want another nest egg for retirement.
