Build your dream home with confidence.
Building a home is exciting, but construction finance can seem overwhelming. I'll guide you through the entire process—from pre-approval to the final progress payment—so you know exactly what to expect every step of the way.
Construction loans are designed specifically for building.
Unlike a standard home loan, construction finance releases your loan in stages as your home is built, helping you manage cash flow throughout the build.
Progress Payments
Funds are generally released to your builder at different stages of construction rather than all at once.
Pay Interest Only On Funds Used
During construction you'll usually only pay interest on the funds that have been drawn, helping reduce repayments while your home is being built.
Build With Confidence
I'll work closely with you and your lender to help ensure each stage of your construction finance runs as smoothly as possible.
Finance Tailored To Your Build
Whether you're building your first home, upgrading or constructing an investment property, I'll help you compare suitable lending options.
Here's how construction finance works.
Construction loans are a little different to a standard home loan. Here's what you can expect throughout the building process.

Progress Payments
Your lender releases funds at each stage of the build as construction progresses.
Construction Complete
Your builder completes the final stage and any required inspections take place.
Final Payment
Your lender releases the final progress payment once all requirements have been satisfied.
Move In
Collect the keys to your brand-new home and enjoy everything you've worked towards.
Your Dream Home Awaits!
From your first appointment until your builder hands over the keys, I'll be here to guide you through every stage of your construction loan.
Construction Loan FAQs
Building a home is exciting, but it's natural to have questions along the way. Here are some of the most common questions I help clients with.
What is a construction loan?
A construction loan is a home loan specifically designed for building a new home. Rather than receiving the full loan amount upfront, funds are released to your builder in stages as construction progresses.
What are progress payments?
Progress payments are instalments paid to your builder at key stages of construction, such as the slab, frame, lock-up and completion stages. Your lender releases each payment after confirming the work has been completed.
Can I use my land as equity?
Yes. If you already own your land or have built up equity in it, you may be able to use that equity towards your construction loan, reducing the amount of cash you need to contribute.
Do I need signed building contracts before applying?
In most cases, you'll need a fixed-price building contract, council-approved plans and your builder's documentation before your lender can provide unconditional approval for your construction loan.
How long does construction finance last?
Most construction loans allow an adequate period for your home to be completed. During construction, you'll generally only pay interest on the funds that have been drawn, with normal principal and interest repayments commencing once the build is complete.
